FAQ

Clear answers before we talk through the details.

Common questions about Tekmyster IT consulting, NJ managed IT services, fractional IT leadership, network design, cybersecurity support, compliance readiness, and emergency work.

Do you provide on-site support?

Yes. Tekmyster provides remote and on-site IT support where it makes practical sense. The company is New Jersey-focused, with selective nearby on-site work available when the technical need and engagement fit are strong. Some issues can be handled remotely, while network closets, cabling coordination, physical security systems, infrastructure reviews, and certain troubleshooting work may require an on-site visit.

Do you work with small businesses?

Tekmyster works best with small and mid-sized organizations that treat technology as operational risk, not just a monthly expense. The strongest fit is usually an education, healthcare, nonprofit, or professional services environment that needs better IT decisions, stable systems, practical cybersecurity, and senior technical guidance. Very small consumer-style or lowest-bid work is usually not the right fit.

Do you replace our current IT provider?

Not always. Tekmyster can supplement an existing IT provider, review technical decisions, lead projects, coordinate vendors, or provide fractional IT leadership where senior guidance is missing. If a current provider is doing useful day-to-day work, Tekmyster can help create better ownership, planning, and accountability around the larger technical picture.

Can you work with our existing vendors?

Yes. Vendor coordination is one of the situations Tekmyster Industries is built for. Internet, phone, software, security, cabling, cloud, and IT vendors often look at only their part of the system. Tekmyster helps evaluate the full environment, ask better technical questions, and move the work toward a practical answer.

Do you handle cybersecurity?

Yes, with a practical risk-reduction focus. Tekmyster helps with cybersecurity hardening, access control reviews, endpoint and backup strategy, remote access concerns, network segmentation planning, audit-item remediation, and insurance-related technical controls. The work is designed to reduce preventable exposure without pretending every small or mid-sized organization needs enterprise-scale security theater.

Do you help with compliance readiness?

Yes. Tekmyster helps organizations review technical controls, identify gaps, prioritize remediation, and prepare for requirements tied to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, insurance questionnaires, and internal policy expectations. This is technical readiness guidance, not legal advice or a compliance certification.

Do you provide emergency support?

Emergency work may be available depending on timing, access, and the nature of the issue. For immediate response, call Tekmyster at (732) 630-6001. For next-business-day requests, use the contact form or email. Emergency support is best suited for serious business-impacting issues, not routine consumer tech help.

Do you offer fractional IT leadership?

Yes. Fractional IT leadership gives your organization senior IT judgment without hiring a full-time CIO, IT director, or senior infrastructure leader. It can include project planning, vendor oversight, infrastructure roadmap work, cybersecurity prioritization, compliance readiness, budgeting guidance, and decision support for leadership.

Do you support one-time projects?

Yes. Tekmyster supports defined project engagements, prepaid support blocks, and urgent work when timing and access allow. Common projects include network design and upgrades, infrastructure assessments, cybersecurity hardening, compliance readiness reviews, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, cabling coordination, and physical security system planning.

What makes Tekmyster different from a typical MSP?

Tekmyster Industries is founder-led and built around direct senior involvement. The goal is not to sell a generic ticket queue or compete as the cheapest managed IT provider in NJ. The goal is better technical judgment, clearer ownership, practical execution, vendor accountability, and systems that become more stable over time.
